In 2004, a small team was assembled with a mission: to design a better online poker site. That team included individuals with expertise in the fields of networking, database management, financial transactions and video game design. Although each team member came from such different backgrounds, they had one thing in common; each member had a passion for the game of poker. Work on the site itself didn’t start until the team had come up with best design they could.
A design that would take playing online poker to a new level of enjoyment and that would be rewarding for all those who played.
As the team started their journey to bring this vision to reality, they were fortunate enough to find several more team members that brought addition value and expertise to the site. The testing of Cake Poker started in April of 2005; nearly a year after the team was originally assembled.
In the following months Cake Poker started with a beta version of their software, to iron out the kinks and make sure their design was working as they had envisioned it.
